Exercise Can Help Delay Progression of Type 1 Diabetes

After being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, more than half of patients have a “honeymoon phase” during which the pancreas continues to make insulin in limited amounts. This phase may last for days, weeks, or even months, until all the insulin- producing beta cells are destroyed.
