Most US Adults Not Metabolically Healthy

A recent study that examined the proportion of American adults with optimal cardiometabolic health according to different guidelines. Researchers found that women, youth, those with more education, who never smoked, practiced vigorous physical activity, and had low body mass index were more likely to be metabolically healthy. Metabolic health was seen in fewer than one-third of normal-weight adults, 8 percent of overweight individuals, and 0.5 percent of obese individuals. Read more
