Sleep Apnea Increases Diabetes Risk for African-Americans

Researchers have found that African Americans with sleep apnea are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes. Sleep apnea causes a person’s breathing to stop and start while they sleep and aggravates blood sugar levels. This can lead to type 2 diabetes if untreated.
