Add an SGLT-2 Sooner Rather Than Later

For most people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, the first treatments to be prescribed (aside from lifestyle changes like diet and exercise) are metformin or sulfonylureas. If these do not achieve the desired result, doctors may add additional medications.
