Studying the Rarer Forms of Diabetes

While most of us are familiar with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, there are other, rarer forms of the disease, that are poorly understood. A new initiative from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), The Rare and Atypical Diabetes Network (RADIANT) plans to screen about 2,000 people who have unknown or atypical forms of diabetes, that do not fit the common features of type 1 and type 2.
