Intermittent vs. Continuous Calorie Restriction

A recent study compared the effects of intermittent energy restriction (IER) or continuous energy restriction (CER) on participants with overweight or obesity, to see which has a more significant effect on weight loss. IER consisted of periods of a low energy diet of 500 to 600 kcal, alternating with periods of unrestricted food intake, versus a CER diet with consistent caloric reduction. Read more
