Gene Links Muscle Weakness to Diabetes

People who have type 2 diabetes often have reduced muscle strength, with the ability of the muscles to take up glucose impaired. Researchers have found that a particular gene that normally plays an important role in muscle regeneration is “silenced” in people who have type 2 diabetes.
