Worldwide, Most People With Diabetes Receive Inadequate Care

According to the International Diabetes Federation, almost 80% of the estimated 463 million adults in the world who have diabetes live in low and middle income countries. A study of diabetes treatment in 55 of these low and middle income countries found that many people with diabetes were unaware that they had the condition, and less than 5% were getting adequate drug treatments and lifestyle advice.
