A precision medicine treatment has led to the reversal of a case of type 1 diabetes in a male patient, says a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine. The researchers found the patient had a harmful mutation in a gene called STAT1, and treated the patient with a drug that could inhibit the effects of the mutation on his immune system. Read more
